Law Firm Mergers Taking Place From Texas To Portugal
Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz plans to open its first office in Texas. This will take place through the acquirement of Spain Chambers, a seven-lawyer Houston shop. After the acquisition, the firm will have a total of 620 attorneys and advisors across 17 offices with presence in six states. Spain Chambers advises clients in the energy, manufacturing, petrochemical, and transportation industries. H. Daniel Spain and Bradley Chambers are its litigation partners. Baker Donelson was the one to first approach the firm about a deal early in 2011. In 2010, Baker Donelson’s gross revenues were $248 million and $460,000 profits per partner.
