<<"We're thinking this will be the first of many," Mitchell Dudek, the head of the firm's Shanghai office, said in an interview with The Recorder. "Over time, there will be many Paul Hastings schools in China."
Project Hope is a public service organization created by the China Youth Development Foundation. So far, the organization has built more than 9,500 schools in China. The schools are funded by various organizations and are often named after the organizations.
"We're becoming a participant in that economy," Chairman Seth Zachary told The Recorder. "It's an important part of our strategy to give something back, to be a participant on both ends."
Two of the attorneys in the firm's Shanghai office were raised in the same province that the school is located in, so the construction of the school has a special significance for the firm. In fact, Dudek said that he hopes the firm will be able to hire someone who attended the school one day.
