When you do a legal job search there are many different types of jobs to consider. The legal professional positions you might consider include lawyers, partners, legal transcriptionist, paralegals, and various legal staff positions. Employers can be law firms, judges, public interest organizations, and much more.

The legal field is one of the most active in the world. The United States has experienced more job growth with this industry than any other. The growth is solid and expected to follow trends and continue to grow. There are many more laws passed every year which is another law to be broken and another person who might need representation.

LawCrossing is the best place to get connected to legal jobs in the industry. This job board includes over 25 times more job than any other job board on the Internet. You will even find hidden jobs that cannot be found anywhere else. Over 250,000 websites offer jobs to LawCrossing for posting legal positions for you to do a law job search. Employers are not charged to do their searches. This site is private which means less people are applying for positions than those that are being posted on the job boards.

Lawyers are increasing rapidly. Today there are more than 1.1 million attorneys in the United States alone. When broken down, that is one attorney for every 263 people. Ten years ago there were fewer than 975,000 attorneys in the US. That is how fast the legal industry is growing. There should be no reason why you will not have success on your law job search. It is expected that the market will grow another 10% to 20% within the next five years.

Many legal positions include partners. You might be made a partner at a law firm which means your name will make it to the door and the title of the company. You can be representing your own firm. Partners usually make an average salary of anywhere from $375,000 to $1.5 million annually. Pay for new attorneys have skyrocketed reaching the all time high in history at $160,000 for some firms like Skadden Arps, Sullivan & Cromwell, Kirkland & Ellis and more. This pay is for new associates coming into the firm in New York City. However, it isn't just New York law firms paying large money to new employees on a law job search. The middle regions of the United States are matching these numbers for salary pay also.

Attorneys make money based on the school they go to and the number of lawyers employed in the office. For example, if you went to one of the top ten schools and there is over 251 lawyers in the office the pay is around $250k annually. If you went to a tier 3 school that is not even in the top 100 working for a law firm over 251 attorneys you will only be making $135k. This is a big difference in pay. Some attorneys don't think the school they go to matters as long as they pass the bar exam. This is not the case. The school you attend will make a huge difference in the amount of money you are worth. If you are currently going to a law school today you might consider a transfer if it is not in at least the top 20 schools in the nation. This will greatly help your law job search and assist with a larger salary.

The legal industry generates more money than many industries combined in the United States. You could combine industries such as the Movie exhibitions, bars, spectator sporting events, book publishers, and CPAs and these still do not make as much revenues as the legal market does. The legal industry is making over $182 billion dollars annually and these numbers will continue to increase.
United States

The top 250 firms in the United States averaged last year over $265 million in revenues. This is a national increase of more than 50% of revenues. Annual profits on a per partner basis increased over 30% to over $750,000 annually.

Attorneys who are medium level attorneys are making an average household income today of just under $200k. Attorneys working for a firm with more than 500 employees are averaging an average household income of over $363,000 annually. Top lawyers in the industry are averaging annually over $685,000 annually. The average net worth of lawyers today is over $4 million.

If you have passed the bar exam and your goal is to pay off your student loans as quickly as possible and make the most money you can, you need to try and get in with the biggest law firm possible. The bigger firms pay the most money and are the most promising. The bigger firms are also experiencing growth at astounding rates. There are over 69,000 attorneys in just the top 100 firms. 64% of attorneys in the United States have their own private practice. These attorneys do not make as much money as those who are working in the larger firms.

LawCrossing is the best place to look on your law job search. When you compare Law Crossing to other sites like EmplawyerNet, Vault, CareerBuilder, and LawLadder you will see major differences. CareerBuilder shows around 3,000 lawyer jobs, LawLadder shows 2,600 jobs, Vault only shows 300, and EmplawyerNet displays 2,300 jobs. Law Crossing has over 130,000 posted jobs available for attorneys and people looking to work in a legal profession. This number is stunning and it is only continuing to rise. You will find the job you are looking for on LawCrossing. This is because no one is looking on LawCrossing. This means your competition for some of the top jobs are applying elsewhere up against hundreds of other attorneys. You might not have any competition at the next position you apply for.
