ProfileContracts Administrator The candidate will work under the direction of the Contracts Manager. Will perform contract administration, including: contract review, contract negotiation and maintaining company standard contracts resources/library. Support and administer other contract activities and as assigned by Contracts Manager. Review contract documents, specifications, and general provisions. Prepare risk management summaries and reports of contractual issues for upper management. Apply knowledge, skills and experience to contracting issues arising in maritime, federal, federally-assisted and other contracts and related compliance matters in multiple jurisdictions including construction, dredging, design-bid-build, design-build, etc. Prepare questions to Owner as issues are identified, or as requested. Identify, understand and interpret contractual insurance and indemnification requirements; review proof of insurance documents. Identify special insurance needs. Understand lien laws, lien releases and waivers. Research legal issues. Understand, interpret and communicate risk transfer issues. Assist with negotiating acceptable risk transfer contract clauses. Assist in drafting / amending contracts. Draft and review/approve subcontracts and other agreements for project/field personnel. Communicate contract policy and practice to project/field personnel. Communicate efficiently and effectively with outside legal counsel. Communicate efficiently and effectively with Joint Venture partners and other stakeholders. Administer and maintain library of standard contracts, including master agreements, subcontracts, professional services agreements, purchase orders, towing agreements, time charters (various), equipment rental agreements, bareboat charters, joint venture documents, etc. Administer and maintain standard clauses for amending contracts i.e. mapping clause, waiver of consequential damages, etc. Maintain shared directory files according to department protocols and upload documents to department SharePoint. Prepare tutorials and training materials as directed. Maintain property files (main yards and offices). Assist field personnel with claims documentation. Communicate efficiently and effectively with outside legal counsel as necessary. Prepare and edit accurate professional correspondence and documents. Photocopy and scan a variety of documents as requested. Ensure compliance with Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university, and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Construction, maritime, paralegal, legal research experience and/or law degree preferred. Experience with scheduling, estimating and project management software is preferred.
