Healthcare Paralegal Job Description

United States

'A healthcare paralegal is a paralegal who works in the area of healthcare law. Healthcare law is broad and covers laws and regulations that pertain to healthcare and healthcare providers, such as doctors, nurses, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other healthcare providers. Healthcare paralegals work for healthcare lawyers and law firms that specialize in healthcare law. Some healthcare paralegals work “in house” for hospitals and other healthcare companies. Because healthcare paralegals are not attorneys and have not been admitted to the bars of any state, healthcare paralegals must always work under the direction of a practicing attorney.
