Answer: Oh, what a wonderful dilemma! Depending on how well you do in law school, you are in a win/win situation since you know that you want to work in New York City. Cornell is currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the 12th best law school in the nation. Fordham is ranked No. 32.
Although Fordham is ranked much lower, it still is very well thought of by most major New York law firms. Whether you go to Cornell or Fordham, you will need to be in the top 25 percent of your class and preferably on Law Review in order to receive an offer from one of the major New York law firms (until the economy recovers and the firms become a bit more lenient in their hiring criteria).
