Evanoff brings with him years of experience in the energy industry. Immediately before joining CAMAC, he served as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of the international oil and gas company, Frontera Resources Corporation.

Prior to joining Frontera Resources in 2007, Evanoff spent three years at Transmeridian Exploration Incorporated, another oil and gas exploration and development company. During his time with Transmeridian Exploration, Evanoff held the positions of Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary before serving the company as an outside consultant. As an outside counsel for Transmeridian, Evanoff was also involved in private practice with Phillips & Reiter PLLC.

Before that, he held the position of Vice President of Corporate and Governmental Affairs at Pride International Inc., a drilling contractor. He also served as the Associate General Counsel and General Counsel for Asia and the Middle East at Transocean Ltd., another drilling contractor.

His legal career began at Baker Botts LLP in Houston, where he was largely involved in corporate and securities law. He also spent time as a board member of the Houston World Affairs Council.

Evanoff earned his JD from the University of Houston Law Center. He also studied at the University of Kiel in Germany under a Fulbright Grant. He completed his undergraduate studies at Texas A&M University, where he earned a BS in Chemical Engineering.

During the first week of September, CAMAC also announced the appointment of Babatunde (“Segun”) Omidele to the position of Senior Vice President of Business Development and New Ventures. “We are very pleased to broaden CAMAC Energy's management team with the additions of Mr. Evanoff and Mr. Omidele. Both of these individuals bring relevant industry experience and specific skills sets that will strengthen the Company's ability to execute on its significant growth opportunities,” said Dr. Kase Lukman Lawal, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman, and Director of CAMAC.

CAMAC is involved in the exploration, production, and development of oil and gas through its operations in Nigeria, as well through its Pacific Asia Petroleum subsidiaries in China. The company, which was founded in 2005, has offices in Houston, Texas; Beijing, China; and Lagos, Nigeria.
