<<For many of us, covering the bases and meeting the minimum required obligations certainly constitutes a full day; until you meet someone who not only blows the “minimum required” out of the water, but does it without even breaking a sweat and suddenly, it's really easy to feel a bit inferior. That's likely what those who first meet Christy Hall Benson feel. This week, we take a look at Benson and her many talents. Specifically, we'll explore her legal career that led to these other fascinating avenues she now pursues.

The Write Advice was founded by Benson, who'd already spent several years as a legal assistant and paralegal – and very successful years, at that. She eventually found herself being pulled to her first passion: writing. From there, she was offered a column on advanced legal writing for Legal Assistant Today. It was a natural fit for someone whose words flow easily and the gift of clarity is one she certainly possesses through her writing efforts. Soon, readers found themselves drawn into her column with each new issue. Covering topics such as “Editing Guidelines for the Paralegal” and “Master the Memorandum”, her ability to hone in on the problems many legal support staff faced was priceless – and even better – she had a solution for those problems.

Soon, though, she realized she wanted to fine tune her career and soon, she left the firm she was working for and founded The Write Advice, a small firm dedicated to business and legal writing services, along with consulting services, and based on the east coast. This North Carolina girl is outspoken, confident – and has an impressive clientele.

When she's not donating her time and talents for charity events, she is a part time college instructor in Charlotte. In this capacity, she teaches business writing. While she expresses gratitude for her fifteen years as a paralegal, she also recognizes that without it, she likely wouldn't have picked up the skills and know-how for the various presentations, business letters, contracts and memoranda she now complies for various clients. She allows her creativity to flow via her contracts for marketing brochures. She also maintains a blog, The Write Gal, where she happily dispenses writing advice – and even a bit of shopping advice from time to time. As she says, “Is there anything else but writing and shopping?”
United States

While she takes great pride in all of her accomplishments, she is quick to point out that her most important role is that of a mother to her daughter, Holly, also known as The Little Write Gal.
