The association also conducts the annual WebAwards, a competition in which legal web sites are judged in the following seven areas: design, innovation, content, technology, copywriting, and ease of use. Based on these seven areas, the ISAR reported that legal websites are generally good at content, design, copywriting, and ease of use, but bad at incorporating innovation and technology.
"As the standard of excellence for web sites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective web site," Rice said in an April 16th PRWeb press release.
Thomson-Findlaw's website for Yanowitch Law, P.A., took the WebAward for Best Legal Website in 2006. Other past WebAward winners can be viewed by visiting www.webaward.org/winners_detail.asp?yr=all&award_level=best&category=Legal.
The association is currently accepting websites for entry into the 2007 WebAward competition. For more information, visit www.07webaward.org. The cut off for entries into the competition is May 31, 2007.
"The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks that the Internet Standards Assessment report is based upon. The legal industry represents an important category in the WebAward competition, and the Web Marketing Association will again be honoring the Best Legal Web site of 2007," a press release stated.
