
Citadel Securities Appoints Ryan VanGrack as Interim General Counsel
Citadel Securities LLC, the market maker, has chosen Ryan VanGrack, a seasoned legal expert, to take over the role of general counsel as the company's chief legal officer, Heath Tarbert, departs to join Circle Internet Financial Ltd. VanGrack, a former senior adviser to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair Mary Jo White and a former White House deputy associate counsel, will handle the day-to-day legal duties until a permanent successor is found. Citadel Securities, a separate entity from Citadel LLC, is controlled by billionaire Ken Griffin. Tarbert's replacement will be based in Miami, where Citadel and Citadel Securities relocated their headquarters from Chicago in 2022.

His appointment comes as Citadel Securities continues to expand its legal team, with recent additions including Aaron Friedman as deputy US head of government and regulatory policy, Brooke Cucinella as senior deputy general counsel and global head of litigation and regulatory inquiries, and Natasha Kassian as compliance chief.
