Former Fox News Producer Rejects One Lawsuit, Pursues Related Case
According to a court filing on Friday, Abby Grossberg, a former producer for Fox News, has rejected one of the lawsuits that accused the cable network, parent company Fox Corp (FOXA.O), and Fox News lawyers of defamation and pressuring her to make false statements in the Dominion Voting Systems case, which has now been settled. The lawsuit in Delaware has been dismissed "without prejudice," meaning it can be refiled. However, her lawyer, Tanvir Rahman, clarified on Monday that dismissing the lawsuit does not mean she has resolved the case. Grossberg is still pursuing her related lawsuit against Fox in New York, and Rahman emphasized that they are currently exploring their next course of action.
Abby Grossberg Rejects Defamation Lawsuit Against Fox News, Fox Corp, and Lawyers
According to Rahman, one possible option for Grossberg is to revise her lawsuit filed in New York or file a new case in a different jurisdiction.
Previously, Grossberg was the head of booking guests for Tucker Carlson's weeknight show on Fox News before being fired after filing her litigation in federal court in Manhattan on March 20. Fox News responded to her legal claims by stating that they were full of false allegations against both Fox News and its employees.
In her lawsuit, Grossberg seeks unspecified monetary damages and claims she was subjected to a hostile and discriminatory work environment at Fox News. She accuses the network of defamation, gender, religious discrimination, and pay equity violations.
Moreover, Grossberg alleged that Fox News intimidated and pressured her into making false statements during her deposition in the Dominion lawsuit in September 2022.
On April 18, Fox News settled Dominion Voting Systems' defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million in Delaware. The network announced that it had ended its contract with Tucker Carlson just days later.
Grossberg could have been a crucial witness if the Dominion case had gone to trial.
