Shipman & Goodwin LLP has announced that Sarah Kettenmann has recently joined their team as an Associate in the Environmental Law Practice Group. With her wealth of national and international experience, Sarah is expected to be a standout addition to the firm, providing guidance on federal and state environmental, health, and safety laws, as well as international environmental standards.

Andrew N. Davis, Chair of the Environmental Practice and Management Committee, expressed his excitement at Sarah's arrival, stating that her experience will greatly benefit the firm's clients and colleagues in the realm of environmental law.

Sarah is highly knowledgeable in regulatory practices, providing advice and guidance on compliance and enforcement actions under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). She is also well-versed in international environmental standards, having helped manufacturing sites across the globe to effectively adapt their environmental management systems. Additionally, Sarah provides assistance to clients with EHS auditing and transactional due diligence.

Sarah's qualifications speak for themselves. She clerked for the Hon. Chase T. Rogers, Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court, and served as a judicial extern for Judge Laura Taylor Swain in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York (S.D.N.Y.). She earned certificates in Environmental Law and International Law from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, where she received her J.D., cum laude. Sarah also received her Master of Environmental Management degree with a specialization in Industrial Ecology and Green Chemistry from Yale University School of the Environment, and received her bachelor’s degree in political science, magna cum laude, from Carleton College.

Sarah is licensed to practice in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York and will be based in Shipman's Stamford office. She expressed her enthusiasm for joining the firm and helping clients navigate the often-complicated areas of compliance, stating that her career has been devoted to studying the environment and finding solutions that balance the business interests of clients with their regulatory obligations.
