King & Spalding, a law firm based in Atlanta, has recently welcomed Adam Baker as a partner in their New York office. Baker, previously an assistant U.S. attorney in New Jersey will join the firm's particular matters and government investigations team, guiding clients on regulatory issues, internal investigations, and white-collar litigation.
In his new role, Baker plans to focus on building a client base in the financial and healthcare sectors, particularly in light of the expected increased regulation of telemedicine providers and a rise in the enforcement of COVID-19 relief fraud within the healthcare industry.
Baker is enthusiastic about building a clientele in the financial and healthcare sectors in his new position. He foresees more enforcement in healthcare, focusing on COVID-19 relief fraud and increased regulation of telemedicine providers. Baker was partly drawn to King & Spalding because of the opportunity to work again with former New Jersey U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito, who became a partner at the firm in January 2021 and served as a partner and practice leader at Alston & Bird before becoming U.S. attorney.
In addition to Baker, King & Spalding has also recently added Alicia O'Brien, who led the ethics and compliance team in the White House Counsel's Office under U.S. President Joe Biden, to its particular matters and government investigations team in Washington. Baker is the fifth partner to join the practice in the last three months, according to King & Spalding.
