Summary: Readers will not be disappointed after reading Seattle attorney Karen Koehler’s blog “The Velvet Hammer.”
The Velvet Hammer by Seattle lawyer Karen Koehler provides great insight into the world of legal objections during depositions and other legal topics. Her goal is to preserve the integrity of the profession. She also writes about her personal life, including adventures with her dog and three teenage girls.
In her recent post from August 22 2016, Karen explains how a company called Ride the Ducks Seattle is trying to silence Karen, but she explains what the issues are with this service and why it has been in the media recently.
Another interesting post that Karen highlights details a Cook County attorney that abused personal injury cases by taking personal information from police reports to find new clients. A family that was contacted by the attorney was shocked that he had all of their personal information, including information about their small child, without them giving consent to have access to it. The attorney will now have to answer for violating federal privacy laws in a class action lawsuit.
