Dewey has lost another six partners and this time the law firm's spin on the departures is that they knew they were going to lose some partners in the next few months. Dewey is losing partners from the insurance, IP and bankruptcy practices and the partners are going to different firms such as Patton Boggs, Hogan Lovells and Baker & Hostetler and Mayer Brown. This brings the total count of partner departures to 47 this year. The news of their departures comes just as the remaining Dewey partners have finalized the new “office of the chairman”; a five member committee which will replace current chairman Steven Davis. Davis will be one of the five members.
