Legal research service firm LexisNexis has announced that it will be acquiring Portfolio Media, which is the parent company of newswire Law360. LexisNexis is itself a subsidiary of Reed Elsevier Group, a British publishing company. In a press release that it released on Tuesday, the firm said that Law360 would continue to be run by its founders Marius Meland and Magnus Hoglund and also keep operating as a separate entity within the LexisNexis network. Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is advising LexisNexis on the deal.
