Greenberg Traurig has plans of setting up its office in Mexico City. This is Traurig's thirty-third office and will undertake a range of activities including corporate, antitrust, and litigation matters as well as telecommunications, real estate, and food and drug regulation. Luis Rubio Barnetche Rubio Villegas & Asociados's former managing partner will serve as managing partner of the new Traurig office. Bird & Bird has entered into an alliance with Casablanca's law firm, El Amari & Associates. Mohieddine El Amari, El Amari's founding and managing partner, has worked with Bird & Bird on joint projects in Paris. Bird & Bird also aims to strengthen its hold in North and sub-Saharan Africa as well as the Middle East. In the meantime, Squire Sanders & Dempsey opened up in Perth last week after adding 80 lawyers.
