Its location in Washington DC is enough reason to give any potential law student pause; after all, those are the proverbial big dogs in the legal sector. But for those wishing to call George Mason Law home, it's their first big step into the legal world they want to play a role in. Victoria Huber is aware of these insecurities and concerns of entering students and because of this, she and her staff go the extra mile to make sure each entering student feels welcome. Lifting the intimidation factor is just the first step she makes as she enters their lives and educational careers. She and her staff are versatile, a step ahead and outgoing – and as a team, they guide their law students fearlessly into the next step of their legal careers.

The Career, Academic and Alumni Services Office, or CAAS as it's known throughout the campus, provides a broad range of counseling services to the law students at George Mason University School of Law. From support services for financial aspects to finding openings in legal seminars to providing assistance with resumes and interview tips, Victoria Huber leads her staff in the CAAS as it embarks on each new semester with enthusiasm for the incoming legal minds. Their record in employment success is unmatched and it's not uncommon for the staff to be approached by judges on every level, attorneys in law firms of every size looking for the ideal candidate and political leaders in search of their next bright interns. They know the quality of law students this school creates. They know the integrity of the staff and they trust the instincts of its career dean. Each incoming law student is required to sit down with Huber or one of her staff for a one on one meeting to ensure each student knows of the resources available to them as a student of George Mason Law.

Huber, before arriving at George Mason in 1997, was an attorney with Covington & Burling. She's also clerked for Judge Francis D. Murnaghan on the United States Court of Appeal. She received her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and then proceeded with her JD from the University of Virginia. It's her experience and intuition, however, which make her a perfect fit as the liaison for law students at every level of their education. It's what earns the respect of those around her.
