For two years in a row, Greg Lambert's blog 3 Geeks and Law Blog was named one of the best 100 legal blogs in the country by the ABA Journal. Editors of the journal referred to the blog as ''research nerdery and industry criticism written by the best and brightest in law firm business, knowledge management, libraries...'' And it's absolutely true. The blog covers everything from online legal research, along with all of its ''contracts, commingling, consistency and confusion'', readers' favorite ''PowerPoint Stories'' (definitely for the geek-minded) and Lambert's comments on how he once did a complete PowerPoint presentation based on a photo from a Dr. Seuss book. His ''wonderful concoction'' was focused on competitive intelligence, and naturally, Lambert and his clever imagination named it ''Dr. ''CI''euss slides''.
And it's been that way since 2007, when the blog was born - one brilliant post at a time.
Lambert isn't new to the awards arena. He's been honored for many of his articles, including the Library Group's Excellence Award in Technology. This was courtesy of his tireless efforts in developing the King & Spalding Daily 'Articles & Alerts Monitor'. Specifically, he was honored in the category of ''best use of technology''.
Lambert also works closely with another team on his Law Firm Competitive Intelligence Blog. The focus is on competitive intelligence and has become a meeting place for those wishing to learn more or expand their horizons on all things legal. While it's available for anyone to read, participation is limited only to those related to law firm competitive intelligence.
Lambert, as mentioned earlier, is employed by King & Spalding. The firm was founded more than 125 years ago. It's been home to such revered legal minds as former Attorney General Griffin B. Bell. The law firm has offices around the world, including Frankfurt, Geneva, London, New York, Paris and of course, Houston, where Lambert calls home. Laying claim to more than half of the Fortune 100, the firm credits its client relationships for its longstanding success. Further, the partners work from what they refer to as ''three core objectives: legal work of the highest quality, attentive and responsive client service and community stewardship''. Some of its clients include Google, WalMart, Lockheed Martin, Johnson & Johnson and the Coca Cola Company.
