Reforms for Government Entitlement, but What About Marital Entitlement?

As mentioned, the speech politicians use when they humble themselves hit the media, complete with a generous toss of catchphrases, including ''I regret my actions'', ''I apologize to my family'', I have made mistakes'' and finally, we'll likely see in the following days a series of verbal ''no comments''. Though it's still early and his wife is likely still reeling from what was sure a devastating realization, there's been no word on whether or not divorce attorneys would soon be entering the ring.

Representative Marlin Stuzman (R-IN) said, ''If someone is willing to lead a secret life away from their spouse, how can the general public trust you?''

The email exchange between Lee and the still-unidentified woman was also released. The woman asks Lee, after receiving the shirtless photo, if he routinely sent semi-nude photos to strangers, to which Lee replied, ''It was all I had''. He must have forgotten about the countless professional photos taken by the government and used on every government website in the nation.

Lee's description of himself included, ''I'm a very fit fun class guy. 6Ft 190lbs blond/blue'' (sp). House Speaker John Boehner received Lee's resignation almost immediately following the release of the photo.

It just doesn't work out well for many women who marry politicians. For every adulterous scandal, there's a grieving wife at home whose world has just fell apart. She's left to pick up the pieces, regardless of whether divorce enters the realm of possibility. The majority of these political leaders have children and they too must suffer the public embarrassment.

Lee made bad choices and hopefully, in the end, he will receive what he so justly deserves; in the meantime, however, he now joins ranks with countless other exposed politicians who use their government positions the same way pimps use their street corners.
