He founded the Law Firm of Greg D. McCormack, P.C. in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He and his staff, many who have their own military backgrounds, run a well organized practice that's aggressive in its approach. McCormack is a well known legal mind within the military community and has handled many cases, some of which were high profile, over the years. Perhaps most recently, McCormack defended Navy SEAL Jonathan Keefe and successfully netted a not guilty verdict for his client.
Before he was well known as a military lawyer, Greg McCormack served as a member of the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps. While a part of this, he served as a military prosecutor and eventually took the role of a defense attorney. After 1982, when he retired from the Army JAG Corps, he focused his energies and talents on a private practice for both military personnel and civilians. And he's never looked back.
He takes on cases involving sex crimes, including rape and sexual assault, security clearances and criminal cases. Those criminal cases include homicide, assault, larceny, fraud, fraternization and he also represents those who test positive in urinalysis cases for illegal drugs. He practices from an ethical foundation that includes a ''no holds barred'' defense of his clients and a sincere search for the truth. He is aggressive, detail oriented and most importantly, loyal to his clients. That loyalty is repaid via the countless testimonials and a quick internet search reveals more of this attorney's ethical approach not only to the law, but to life in general.
His staff members are educated and as dedicated to both the firm's clients and their respect for the military as McCormack is. They each bring to the table their own skills and experience, as they too served in our armed forces.
Greg McCormack is a graduate from the Western New England College School of Law in 1979 and received his bachelor's degree in 1975 from Jacksonville University in Florida. He is licensed to practice in both Virginia and Massachusetts as well as the Military Appellate Court, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals (4th Circuit), the U.S. Court of Claims the United States Supreme Court.
This brilliant legal mind is a force to be reckoned with in legal circles around the world and with Memorial Day upon us, it is the ideal time to recognize our branches of the military and also those who defend that military, even as they fight for our freedoms.
