What happens, though, when your entire life gets a bit overwhelming? There is no patch, no center, no class, and no band-aid for that little thing we call real life.
Being in law school is not an easy task. (Perhaps that's the
understatement of the year.) It really is not the ideal place to expand your social or personal life, but it is the place that you hope will take you straight to riches and success. The road to all of that, though, can be a bumpy one.
Friends and family outside of the law arena will probably never really understand your schedule and how much time you really need to dedicate to your schooling. Going to law school is a lifestyle that you, and the people around you, need to adapt to.
I'm sure you have contemplated the idea of leaving it all behind. Is law school really worth it? Now, that's a good question and one nobody can answer for you. Ultimately what you need to ask yourself is "Is it worth it for me?"
Although you knew it was going to be tough, you probably didn't realize exactly how tough until you took your first final and received that first grade. This is the decision that you made for yourself and your future, so in this case quitting is not what you need to consider. Making it through these years and fighting for your dream is what you need to focus on instead.
Whether it's based on a desire to debate in a courtroom or a desire to write contracts for the rest of your life, your determination needs to keep you going. Sure, it's easy to take the first out you can think of, but there is a reason that a good number of lawyers get paid so well: everything they have had to endure to get where they are at. If you still want to keep your goals alive, then you have to stick with it. Once you finish and make it through to the other side, you will be thankful that you didn't give up.
After all, giving up is just way too easy, and who wants to succeed on those terms? Thought so.
