Mark your calendars; November 23, 2007, is the date to remember! That is when applications are due to the ABA Law Student Division and BAR/BRI for their bar review scholarships. For students planning on taking the bar exam in February or July of 2008, applications must be postmarked by the above date. Applicants need to be active members of the ABA Law Student Division, and scholarships will vary. Other details apply, so check the site for the specifics.

USC Law gets Google Apps
Google Apps for Education has been adopted by USC Law. The school is the first at USC and one of the first law schools to use this suite of online communication tools and services. Available tools include Gmail, chat, and other applications for research and production. Each Gmail account holds two gigabytes of data. For more information, check the school's website.

Military recruiters allowed to visit Yale
Yale Law School has fought for years to stop military recruiters from participating in its job fairs, but it looks like the school will finally have to concede. For the past five years, Yale Law has barred military recruiters due to the Pentagon's take on sexual orientation. The military has been known to treat openly gay or bisexual individuals harshly. The federal government, though, recently threatened to keep $350 million in grants from the school if the recruiters were not permitted to attend future fairs.
