Teenager Safe, After a Six-Story Plunge
Matthew Savage, 17, trying to retrieve a swim suit stuck one floor above his balcony on the sixth floor of a hotel in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, toppled over the railing...plunged straight down to the ground floor...and started walking back to his room with just a few bruises and scrapes. On his trip down, the teenager hit other balconies, slammed onto a slanted rooftop that covers the hotel's lazy river, and slid into the bushes below. The paramedics however would not take any chances. They rushed Savage to the hospital after strapping him onto a board. After examination, the teenager was given a clean health chit from the authorities.
