The Judge
Check out the July 26 post "Lawyer Cannibalism" by Walter Olson at Overlawyered. The story it tells is one to learn from. I always say that it's better to learn from the mistakes of others than to learn by committing mistakes and enduring personal suffering.
A July 25 post on Deliberations entitled "We R Deliberating Where RU?" follows the story of Richard Scrushy, who recently faced two criminal trials. As author Anne Reed says, "There's a plateful of food for thought here."

Now, this next one is a must-read; the July 25 post on Concurring Opinions mentions a recent study which found obesity may be infectious! The study found that "when one spouse became obese, the other was 37% more likely to do so." Well, it stands to reason if they've been eating the same food. Plus, the risk apparently was much higher among mutual friends—now that is something that needs investigation! The post is titled "The Genius of Metaphor: Obesity 'Epidemic'" and was written by Frank Pasquale.
