I first heard about this place while watching some show on the Travel Channel about ridiculously expensive and over-the-top hotel options in The Big Apple. Now that's my kind of television programming. Anyway, The Muse was one of the venues profiled. And I must say that I totally disagree with the assumption that the amenities at this place are over-the-top. They don't even come close. Personally, I would describe The Muse as a fine establishment that offers its guests a unique selection of entertainment packages designed to maximize one's stay in Manhattan.

I have to make my reservations ahead of time, but there are so many options that sound enticing I'm not sure which one I should choose. For instance, there is the "Cabin Fever Package" (I get out too much to need that one), the "Sex and the City Pajama Party Package" (that's only good for a group, and I don't do groups), the "Fashion Muse Package" (I'd need to bring my BFF to make the most of that one), and the "One Night Stand Romance Package" (we won't even go there!). Perhaps in a few months when my Goldendoodle puppy is well trained and officially my best friend, I'll go back and together we'll indulge in the "Pampered Pooch Package."

This time, since I am going in search of my muse, I think it's only appropriate that I sign up for the "Dreams of a Muse Package." Even within this option there are so many possibilities from which to choose. I can live out my greatest artistic fantasies, and the hotel room rates start at only $199 per night, plus the cost of any selected lessons. All of my fantasies should be priced so reasonably!

With the "Dreams of a Muse Package," I can choose to take a dance lesson at the American Ballet Theatre, during which I will learn a routine from Giselle (just like most little girls, I once dreamed of being a ballerina), or I can go to the Broadway Dance Theatre at Juilliard, where someone will teach me moves from Chicago or West Side Story—don't tell anyone, but I do love big, flashy musicals!

United States
Another option within this option includes a trip to Carnegie Hall, where, after the appropriate lesson, I'll have the opportunity to play Chopin's "Minute Waltz" or sing "La Donna e Mobile" from the opera Rigoletto right there on that famous stage. That's one way to make it to Carnegie Hall, but I doubt I'll be able to stumble my way through either one of those pieces after just one lesson!

Well, after giving this a lot of thought, I have finally decided that I'd most like to pay a visit to Radio City Music Hall, where I'll have the opportunity to learn a few kick-steps from a real live Rockette. Afterward, I'll even get to slip into high heels and one of their incredible costumes—feathers and all—and join in with one of those famous leggy kick lines.

How totally cool is that?
