Well, fear not. The TomTom GO 910 GPS Car Navigator is the answer to your prayers. It's easy to assemble. Just take it out of the package, plug it in, switch it on, and ride off into the sunset. The TomTom GO 910 is equipped with a touch screen; compact, portable design; route review and test; clear 3D graphics; dynamic status bar; onscreen tips; integrated GPS antenna; extensive guided tour; and itinerary planning.
As you are guided back down the yellow brick road, a 20GB hard disk leaves enough room for thousands of your favorite songs. Jam to your favorite song through its built-in mp3 player and its GO speaker (or your car's stereo), and manage your songs with the TomTom Jukebox.
Although the TomTom also comes with the most up-to-date maps in America, Canada, and Europe, the most appealing feature is that there is a "text-to-speech" voice, which guides you out of unknown territory and toward your final destination. With the TomTom Car Navigator, you are never alone. Think of it as your own personal tour guide. You can choose from 50 voices and 30 different languages.
"The GO 910 has an excellent speaker, and the navigating voice was well sampled and clear," said Stuff Magazine. "Text-to-speech tech means that it can also read out street names, further clarifying matters at busy junctions."
"I chose it over other systems because I believed it to have excellent multi-language support. I am Greek; my wife is Hungarian; and while we live in the U.S., we have some friends/relatives visiting us," explains a customer who purchased the TomTom GO 910 GPS. "I thought it would be great while they are here to lend them a car with a GPS that would speak their own language. The TomTom passed this test with flying colors. It supports voices in a plethora of languages (including Greek and Hungarian) so if that is a concern of yours it has you covered."
Founded in 1991 in Amsterdam, TomTom has since branched out, accumulating more than a million customers in 16 countries and is quickly climbing up the "popularity ladder."
"2006 is off to a successful and exciting start. Market demand continues to be strong, and TomTom increased unit sales of 2005," stated TomTom's Chief Executive Officer, Harold Goddijn, in a press release. "In the first quarter, we successfully secured the sell through to the current TomTom GO series ahead of the introduction of the new range. In Europe, we strengthened our market-leadership position and increased our market share. In the U.S., we expanded our distribution strength through a substantial increase in the number of retail outlets we present in."
Talking you through the drive, the TomTom voice has a vehicle-speed-linked volume, which means the volume of voice instructions will increase/decrease depending on the speed of the car. And for those of you who have gotten one too many speeding tickets, the TomTom has yet another added bonus. There is a speeding-alert system, which lets you know when you are going too fast.
Need a compass for backup? The TomTom has that too. Available on the anti-glare, 4-inch, high-quality LCD screen, a compass mode is available for your convenience.
According to another TomTom customer, "Navigation is like having a summer home instead of staying in a motel. Once you get it, you can't live without it. Just this past weekend, the GO 910 saved me 15 minutes on a frequently made trip, showing me a much better route. Besides saving time, it allows you to predict your time of arrival with great accuracy (save accidents and traffic delays)." Now, how many of us can say that about Mapquest.com?
