As the Arizona Super Bowl host committee chairman, Kennedy has overseen the "five-member executive board and 25-member board of directors, organizing the 15-member host committee staff and raising nearly $18 million," says a press release.

"My passion is for my family, the community and sports," said Kennedy. "Getting involved with any of my passion takes work, but somehow my efforts seem to come back to me as a blessing and reward. Most evenings I take refuge in the backyard throwing batting practice to our 16-year-old, Kevin."

And his humble spirit is exactly what he's known for by friends and colleagues. When the big game day arrives, one might expect the committee chairman to shake many hands and orchestrate several toasts, all while basking in his accomplishments. However, Kennedy does things differently.

"Mike is not interested in fanfare or praise for his years of selfless giving to Arizona," said Beau Lane, CEO of advertising and public relations firm E.B. Lane. "He'll want to spend the day saying thanks to all the folks who have been a part of this extraordinary event."

United States
For several years Kennedy has been included on the "Best Lawyers in America" list as well as the list of "America's Leading Lawyers for Business." And in 2007 he was one of six Arizona lawyers included on Lawdragon's "Top 500 Lawyers in America" list.

Kennedy earned his degree from Duke University in 1972. Three years later, having graduated from Virginia Law School, he was hired by law firm Snell & Wilmer. Then, in 1978, Kennedy ventured out on his own, began Gallagher & Kennedy, and has thrived ever since.

His full-service law firm's mantra? "Arizona business is our business."

And it shows. Currently ranked as Arizona's fifth-largest law firm, Gallagher & Kennedy represents several well-known Arizona clients including the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Cardinals, and Arizona Public Service.
