Job Title: Employment Law Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Employment Law Paralegal plays a vital role in supporting attorneys by handling a variety of tasks related to employment law litigation. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting attorneys with all phases of employment law litigation, including pre-trial preparation, trial, and post-trial activities.
- Conducting legal research and gathering evidence to support case strategies, such as personnel records, company policies, and witness statements.
- Drafting and preparing legal documents including complaints, answers, discovery requests/responses, motions, position statements, and settlement agreements.
- Filing and managing legal documents with courts and administrative agencies like the EEOC and DOL, ensuring compliance with all procedural deadlines and requirements.
- Coordinating with clients, HR professionals, and expert witnesses to obtain necessary information and documentation.
- Reviewing and summarizing personnel files, investigation reports, disciplinary records, and other case-related documents.
- Assisting in the preparation of discovery responses and managing the discovery process, including organizing and reviewing relevant documentation.
- Preparing case files and exhibits for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Maintaining and updating case management systems with case details, deadlines, and correspondence.
- Communicating with clients to provide updates on case status, schedule appointments, and respond to inquiries.
- Supporting attorneys in trial and hearing preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing hearing/trial binders.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Employment Law Paralegal position are expected to have:
- Proven experience as a paralegal, preferably in employment or labor law.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing, with experience in drafting legal documents and pleadings.
- Knowledge of employment litigation procedures and familiarity with federal and state employment laws and regulations, such as Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, etc.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing sensitive and confidential case information.
- Proficiency in case management software, legal research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and government agencies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
- Ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and stay self-motivated.
- Excellent time-management and typing skills.
- Professional demeanor, attire, and adherence to company dress code.
- An Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or a paralegal certification is preferred.

Schedule:
The position follows an 8-hour shift schedule, with options of 8am - 5pm, 8:30am - 5:30pm, or 9am - 6pm, from Monday to Friday, in an onsite professional office setting.
