Job Title: Financial Application Analyst
Job Responsibilities:
The Financial Application Analyst is tasked with ensuring the optimal functioning and enhancement of the law firm's financial software applications. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and Deployment:
- Collaborate in the planning, design, and development of new applications and enhancements to existing ones.
- Manage the compatibility and interoperability of applications within the firm.
- Conduct ongoing reviews and analyses to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of applications, developing strategies to leverage these applications further.
- Conduct research into software products and services to support development and purchasing efforts.
- Provide support for testing new and existing software applications under development or consideration for purchase.
- Operational Management:
- Maintain and monitor the performance of existing software and applications across the organization.
- Acquire technical and functional knowledge of software applications used and supported by the organization.
- Work with accounting department leads and training staff to assess application training needs and objectives.
- Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software application training programs and individual classes.
- Address incoming request tickets from end-users to resolve application and software issues within assigned applications or databases and document interactions properly.
- Thoroughly document the problem-solving process, including all decisions and actions taken through to final resolution.
- Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end-users, and unit leaders.
- Test fixes and conduct post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and anti-virus software.
- Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Alternatively, 3-5 years of an equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.
- Functional and technical knowledge and experience with accounting software solutions are necessary, ideally with 3 or more years of enterprise-level accounting software analysis or equivalent functional subject matter expertise.
- Strong general knowledge of the Microsoft Windows operating systems (PC and Server), including all administration-level functions.
- Strong authoring or development experience with T-SQL, SSRS, Power BI, or other report design and visualization tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
- Experience with requirements gathering and software testing.
- Previous experience in the legal or professional services industries is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and written/spoken communication skills are essential.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Financial Application Analyst position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience level and geographic location.

- Equipment Operated: The position requires extensive use of a computer and telephone, as well as copying, faxing, scanning, and printing equipment.
- Physical Requirements: Occasionally required to talk, hear, and see.
- Mental Requirements: Ability to effectively communicate information orally and in writing and deal effectively with a diverse group of people.
- Work Environment: The employee might be exposed to weather conditions while traveling between offices, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
