Job Title: Legal Billing Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- The Legal Billing Manager will report to the CFO and supervise the firm's billing operations.
- Lead a team comprising 20 billers, a Billing Supervisor, a Billing Lead, and 2 support roles.
- Ensure accurate and compliant billing practices on a monthly cycle.
- Support all department initiatives and implement billing deadlines.
- Understand and implement client billing guidelines effectively.
- Provide directions and assign work to Billing Specialists.
- Monitor workloads, quality of work, and adherence to established firm policies and procedures.
- Identify, establish, and provide training to enhance skill development for the Billing team.
- Assist and resolve any issues regarding billing procedures or inquiries from the billing team, attorneys, or clients.
- Coordinate efforts to ensure coverage for absences, including the development of contingency plans.
- Coordinate team meetings to ensure smooth operation and communication within the team.
Education and Experience Information:
- Must be proficient in electronic billing processes and every aspect of the legal billing process.
- Requires 7+ years of experience in legal billing for a law firm.
- Experience in Insurance Defense billing is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Excel, with a tech-savvy approach to learning new systems.
- Experience with Juris is a plus, while experience with Aderant is preferred.
- Must demonstrate managerial and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, vendors, and clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- A strong work ethic, integrity, and commitment to meet deadlines are essential.
- Strong knowledge of legal billing practices and terminology is mandatory.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000.
