Brian has been recruiting for nearly 22 years, and has a track record of successfully placing partners and associates in both large and small firms throughout California. Despite a down market in 2002 and 2003, he placed nearly 20 candidates each year. And in 1999 and 2000, he placed more than 30 associates each year. Even in the present economic climate, Brian continues to place candidates.

Brian earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was designated a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar for academic excellence. He is the author of the ''Siegel's Answers to Essay and Multiple Choice Questions” manuals, a popular, 12-book series that has been a mainstay in legal book stores throughout the United States for more than 25 years. He also wrote the original Preliminary Multistate Bar Review (PMBR) flashcards.


For fifteen years, Mr. Siegel successfully presented a Bar essay writing program and was the primary essay lecturer for PMBR's full-blown Bar Review program, prior to its merger with the Kaplan course.

Brian has been with BCG for nearly six years. During his 22 years as a recruiter, Brian has developed relationships with a great many firms throughout California and on the West Coast. He joined BCG because of their stellar reputation. ''Several of the attorneys I'd worked with had great things to say about the company,” he said.

''I always try to give my candidates the very best I can. I ask myself, ‘If this person was my son or daughter, what would I advise them to do?' Candidates, even ones that I haven't placed, often refer others to me, because they know I gave them good advice. I try to thoroughly prepare candidates for interviews, and they will often tell me it made all the difference. Today, firms will often interview 12-18 candidates before extending an offer. So, a person not only has to get in the door, he or she also has to interview extremely well.”

What's the main reason Brian has been so successful? ''I'm always honest with my candidates, and I make it a point to return their calls and emails as quickly as possible. I always try to be professional. The fact that I receive referrals, even from attorneys I haven't placed, is very gratifying. Attorneys that have worked with me know I make every effort on their behalf.”
