Former State Senator Joins Mannat

Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP , has announced the addition of Martha Escutia, a former state senator; Escutia will serve as Partner in the firm's California government and regulatory division in Los Angeles. She was in the state senate from 1998 to 2006 and served the state assembly from 1992 to 1998. She has also represented the Whittier area in the state legislature for 14 years. New Partner at White & Case
Alan Shore Gover has recently joined White & Case, LLP, as a partner in the firm's financial restructuring and insolvency practice. Gover, who will be resident in the firm's New York office, joins a team of more than 120 bankruptcy lawyers located worldwide, who provide comprehensive services in areas across the full spectrum of bankruptcy law. Gover comes from Dewey Ballantine, LLP, where he has headed the restructuring practice since 2001.

Thompson & Knight Adds 22 New Associates
Thompson & Knight, LLP, recently announced the addition of 22 new associates to its Austin, Dallas, and Houston offices. The new associates in the Dallas office are Corey M. Weideman, Matthew Z. Williams, and L. Paige Woodard; and Schuyler B. Marshall, V, joined the Austin office.

O'Donnell and Attanasio Join White & Case
Two prominent energy lawyers, Earle H. O'Donnell and Donna M. Attanasio, have joined White & Case, LLP, as partners in the firm's Washington, DC, office, further strengthening White & Case's top-ranked energy, infrastructure, and project finance practice. Both were previously partners with Dewey Ballantine, LLP.

Holland & Knight Hires Two New Associates for Its Portland Office
Jason Barker and Christopher "Chris" Clark have recently joined Holland & Knight's Portland office as associates in the firm's business section. Barker practices in the areas of corporate law, securities, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and corporate governance. He earned his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law. Clark will practice in the areas of estate planning and family business in the firm's private wealth services section. He earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from Lewis & Clark Law School, where he also received the Dean's Scholarship of Excellence.

Former Clifford Chance Antitrust Specialist Joins Crowe & Dunlevy
Formerly a partner with Clifford Chance, Hart Holden has joined Oklahoma-based Crowe & Dunlevy as the firm's director in its business department. Holden will be based in the Washington, DC, office of Clifford Chance and will manage the firm's government antitrust practice in the United States. Holden also previously served the Federal Trade Commission for 14 years, handling a number of antitrust cases. Crowe & Dunlevy is a premier law firm in Oklahoma and has offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Norman.
