Job Title: Proposal Manager
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning, writing, and management of complex, multi-practice RFPs and proposals aimed at key clients and new business opportunities.
- Act as a consultant and advisor to attorneys and firm leadership on pursuit strategies, competitive differentiators, and client messaging.
- Collaborate with Business Development Managers to ensure proposals align with client goals and the firm's strategy.
- Provide strategic guidance to other firm contributors involved in proposal content and external proposal support resources.
- Establish best practices, scalable workflows, and quality assurance processes across all proposal activities.
- Lead cross-functional teams in high-stakes pursuits involving various stakeholders and tight deadlines.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, searchable content library of high-quality, pre-approved proposal content.
- Oversee the creation of templates, boilerplate responses, case studies, and attorney profiles with a focus on value and results.
- Ensure all submissions are brand-consistent, compliant, and aligned with the law firm's voice and market positioning.
- Track proposal activity, outcomes, and ROI to identify trends, improve win rates, and inform future strategies.
- Create and maintain performance dashboards and executive reports for senior leadership and practice groups.
- Proactively seek feedback and implement lessons learned to refine content, processes, and team performance.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, business, or a related field is required.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience managing proposals in a professional services or legal environment, with a proven track record of success, is required.
- Exceptional writing, storytelling, and editorial skills, especially in translating complex legal concepts into compelling client messages, are required.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to lead multiple high-priority projects simultaneously, are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with proposal management systems and tools are required.
- Advanced knowledge of legal industry services, practice areas, and client needs is preferred.
- Experience with design and production tools is preferred.
