Job Title: Senior Manager of Business Intelligence
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager of Business Intelligence is tasked with spearheading the development and implementation of actionable business intelligence that underpins the law firm's marketing and business development strategies. This role is crucial in cultivating a systematic, data-driven approach to managing relationships, tracking experiences, and identifying market opportunities. Key responsibilities include:
- Business Intelligence Development & Deployment:
- Leading efforts to collect, standardize, and catalog vital business intelligence that supports marketing and business development strategies. This includes:
- Experience data related to matters handled, jurisdictional nuances, sector-specific insights, and industry expertise.
- Relationship intelligence such as Who-Knows-Whom, client and prospect contacts, referral sources, judges, alumni, and opposing/co-counsel connections.
- Professional accolades including rankings, awards, and specialized educational credentials.
- Industry trend data relevant to client business challenges and opportunities.
- White space analyses to pinpoint growth opportunities across practices and client portfolios.
- Designing and implementing scalable systems and repositories to efficiently organize, maintain, and present business intelligence across platforms.
- Ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility within marketing and business development initiatives.
- Performance Analytics & Strategic Insights:
- Analyzing business intelligence data to generate actionable insights that propel client development, marketing campaigns, and firm strategy.
- Utilizing models and forecasting techniques to predict market trends and business opportunities.
- Building and maintaining dynamic reporting dashboards and intelligence briefs.
- Operational Excellence & Process Optimization:
- Streamlining and enhancing the use of marketing technologies and systems that support business intelligence, marketing automation, and relationship management.
- Partnering with marketing leadership and cross-functional teams to boost the effectiveness of tools and workflows that support strategic objectives.
- Identifying gaps in current processes and leading initiatives to construct sustainable, efficient solutions.
- Leadership, Collaboration & Change Management:
- Acting as a trusted strategic advisor to senior marketing and business development leadership, offering insights that directly support client service and growth objectives.
- Fostering a data-driven, intelligence-first mindset within the marketing team and across the firm.
- Drafting and disseminating communications regarding new processes, platforms, and intelligence resources to ensure widespread adoption and impact.
- Cross-Functional and Adaptive Leadership:
- Collaborating closely with partners, attorneys, marketing and business development colleagues, and operational teams to ensure intelligence initiatives align with firm priorities.
- Assuming cross-functional leadership roles in projects involving marketing technology, client development initiatives, and operational optimization.
Education and Experience Information:
- 7–10 years of experience in business intelligence, marketing technology/operations, or strategic project management, preferably in a professional services environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in collecting, analyzing, and operationalizing complex business and relationship data.
- Strong experience with CRM, marketing technology, and business intelligence tools.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- Understanding of predictive analytics, data modeling, and market analysis techniques.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, prioritize deadlines, and drive strategic execution.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with proven success collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear, actionable messaging.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of building efficient, scalable systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Analytics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Salary Information:
- Chicago applicant salary benchmark: $150,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience.
- NYC applicant salary benchmark: $150,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience.
- Washington . applicant salary benchmark: $150,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience.
- Los Angeles applicant salary benchmark: $150,000 - $180,000 commensurate with experience.
Working Conditions:
- Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like.
- Expectation of working in the office per the office location and/or firm guidance based on business needs of the firm.
