Job Title: Patent Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Patent Paralegal at the law firm involves a comprehensive range of responsibilities centered around managing client portfolios for US, PCT, and foreign prosecution. Key duties include:
- Managing client portfolios, including all filings and correspondence for both US, PCT, and foreign prosecution.
- Creating, revising, and filing all prosecution documents in US and PCT applications.
- Corresponding with foreign associates regarding all aspects of foreign prosecution.
- Timely reporting of official correspondence concerning patent matters.
- Supporting various intellectual property attorneys to provide excellent service to clients.
- Preparing and filing, or instructing on all aspects of US, PCT, and foreign prosecution.
- Drafting formality documents, attending to document legalization where necessary, and complying with priority document requirements.
- Reviewing and maintaining a docket of associated deadlines for assigned clients.
- Consistently achieving a 1500 billable hour requirement, including approved non-billable time.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of four years of experience in international, PCT, and US prosecution is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; however, a college degree and/or a paralegal certificate from a school approved by the ABA is preferred.
- For those residing in California, candidates must meet the requirements to be a Paralegal as defined by the State of California.
- Thorough knowledge of patent procedural requirements of USPTO practices is required.
Salary Information:
The law firm provides salary ranges to promote transparency and equity in the workplace. The actual salary offered will fall between the minimum and midpoint of the range, considering factors such as education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity. The salary ranges for various locations are as follows:
- Milwaukee, Detroit, Madison & Salt Lake City: $75,200 - $105,300
- San Diego, Denver, Chicago, Dallas & Houston: $82,700 - $115,800
- Los Angeles: $86,300 - $120,800
- Boston, New York & Washington DC: $89,900 - $125,900
- Silicon Valley & San Francisco: $94,100 - $131,700
