Job Title: Marketing and Communications Writer
Job Responsibilities:
- Takes a leading role in writing and editing firm-owned, client-facing content.
- Writes compelling and persuasive content tailored to a variety of different audiences, utilizing different tones of voice and key messages based on the audience.
- Ensures and maintains consistent use of the firm’s voice and style to promote the brand, maximizing clarity and consistency while minimizing errors in grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation.
- Collaborates closely with the firm’s practice chairs and marketing managers to write and edit practice group marketing and business development materials, including copy for pitches, proposals, and the firm website.
- Edits award submissions in collaboration with the PR and department marketing teams; edits directory and award submissions written by other team members.
- Drafts all incoming lateral attorney bios with an eye for consistency and style.
- Edits client alerts, blogs, practice newsletters, and annual or quarterly reports and white papers drafted by attorneys, ensuring a consistent approval process is maintained.
- Drafts content for the monthly internal leadership newsletters and assists with other newsletters.
- Develops and implements editorial standards to maintain and progress the quality of firm content and works with key stakeholders to implement processes.
- Assists in other writing/editing projects as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree in public relations, English, marketing, journalism, or communications is required.
- 5 years of experience in technical writing or journalism with an emphasis on professional services is required.
- Excellent writing and editing skills are required, including a proven record of adhering to AP style and corporate style guides.
- Demonstrated ability to write and edit complex topics for different audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate creatively, clearly, and effectively, both orally and in writing, with attorneys and administrative professionals. Requires creativity, discretion, and the ability to persuade others.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
- Ability to provide quality client service to both internal and external contacts regarding complex matters and to build effective relationships.

Salary Information:
- The budgeted salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000.
