Job Title: Business Development Coordinator - Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development Coordinator supports the marketing and business development efforts of the Litigation team within the law firm. This role involves collaboration with team members to implement key business development and marketing initiatives for the Litigation Department, its practices, and its attorneys. The responsibilities include:
- Proposals/Marketing Collateral/Attorney Biographies:
- Collect and maintain data for proposals and marketing collateral, including technical skills, attorney headcounts, and other relevant information.
- Update marketing collateral with new quotes, headcounts, case descriptions, rankings, and accolades.
- Prepare initial drafts of attorney biographies for new associates and conduct audits to ensure compliance with the firm’s style guide and client guidelines.
- Support the development and maintenance of specialty biographies focusing on specific legal practices and industries.
- Update biographies with new rankings, accolades, and other relevant changes.
- Lateral Recruiting & Integration:
- Coordinate with external publications and ranking organizations to update records for new lateral hires.
- Input new laterals’ experience into the firm’s experience system and marketing collateral.
- Track lateral integration activities.
- Directories & Rankings:
- Assist with the production of ranking and directory submissions, including compiling referee lists.
- Liaise with business development colleagues and other departments to gather information for submissions.
- Marketing & Operations:
- Manage logistics and administrative tasks for newsletters, blogs, briefings, client CLEs, seminars, events, and sponsorships.
- Participate in maintaining the firm’s experience system by reviewing and inputting content.
- Track pitch and proposal activity.
- Assist with project organization and management.
- Conduct basic research and assist with special projects.
- Process check requests, invoices, and expense reports.
- Practice Meetings:
- Assist with logistics and scheduling for business development-related practice meetings.
- Markets/Offices:
- Support market and office activities, including attending virtual and in-person events.
- Corporate Social Responsibility:
- Liaise with the Business Development Coordinator to support practice- and community-specific charitable requests and budgets.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 2 years of business development, sales, marketing, education, business operations, or writing experience, preferably in a law firm or a professional services firm.
- Must live within a commutable distance to the applicable firm office and be able to come into the office 3-4 days per week.

Salary Information:
- The target annual salary range for Illinois-based applicants is $68,000 - $79,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, market data, and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.
