Job Title: Business Development Manager

Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Business Development Manager at the law firm involves managing marketing and business development efforts specifically for the Energy and Infrastructure Team. The manager collaborates closely with attorney leadership to achieve strategic goals and objectives, focusing on developing business with current and prospective clients. Key responsibilities include:

- Identifying, developing, and recommending business strategies to attorneys, aiming to enhance existing client relationships within energy and infrastructure-related sectors.
- Managing the development and implementation of new client expansion initiatives, drafting strategic plans, and conducting necessary follow-ups.
- Overseeing business development activities for the team, including drafting RFP responses and maintaining marketing collateral to enhance the brand.
- Reviewing and providing recommendations for sponsorship and other business development activities as requested, assisting Team Heads in budgeting and managing business development expenses.
- Working with the Research and Information Services staff and business development professionals on market intelligence initiatives on an as-needed basis.
- Leading the coordination and preparation of certain submissions for legal directories, including Chambers USA, Chambers Global Guides, and Legal500.
- Developing and maintaining relevant information and document files, including correspondence, raw materials, and background data used in creating expressions of interest and proposals.
- Maintaining a centralized depository for all marketing materials, existing and prospective clients, lawyer expertise, and client proposals.
- Organizing team business development activities.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing projects or processes is required, preferably within a law firm, professional services, or other client relationship-based organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- Other qualifications include the potential requirement for travel, availability, and willingness to work hours as needed to meet critical deadlines, and a strong commitment to client service excellence and teamwork.
- The candidate must possess the highest standards of ethical conduct and professionalism, act as a catalyst for change, and drive and own results.
- The role demands creativity, innovation, excellent communication skills (oral, written, and listening), and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of professionals.
- The candidate should have sound judgment, flexibility, the ability to work well under pressure, patience, diplomacy, high stress tolerance, excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to prioritize workload, and adapt to changing conditions.
- Essential competency processes include language ability, reasoning, and memory. The incumbent must possess the abilities or aptitudes to proficiently perform each of the responsibilities and accountabilities described, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Information:
- The expected salary range for New York-based employees is $145,400 to $231,800, although salaries for employees based outside of New York may differ.
- The expected salary range for Washington, DC-based employees is $145,400 to $231,800, but salaries for employees based outside of Washington, DC may differ.
- Beyond a candidate’s physical location, salary offers may be based on several factors, including education, training, and/or experience.
