Job Title: Proposals Manager

Job Responsibilities:
The Proposals Manager at the law firm plays a crucial role in supporting partners and the business development team on strategic, cross-practice, and industry proposals. The primary responsibilities include:

- Leading and managing the preparation of proposals and RFP responses, ensuring high standards and timely delivery.
- Organizing and leading proposal kick-off and progress meetings, managing timelines and action items.
- Managing the proposal process lifecycle, ensuring best practices, continuous improvement, and feedback integration.
- Collaborating with partners and client teams to develop pitch strategies, conduct rehearsals, and prepare presentation materials.
- Coordinating the preparation of smaller pitches and capability statements with Business Development (BD) Managers, Specialists, and Coordinators.
- Supporting high-value panel proposals and taking the lead on smaller panel RFPs.
- Acting as the primary lead for the development and maintenance of the firm’s proposals technology, including proposals generating tools and RFP submission databases.
- Tracking and reporting on RFP activity, pitch volumes, and success rates, flagging trends and concerns to BD leadership.
- Maintaining accurate records in the firm’s pitch tracking system, ensuring win/loss analysis and performance metrics are captured.
- Working with BD Directors to conduct high-value pitch feedback reviews and presenting insights to BD leadership.
- Supporting projects related to firmwide and practice area content used in proposals and pitches, in collaboration with marketing operations, stakeholders, including attorneys, business development, firm management, and practice group leaders.
- Collaborating with BD, Marketing, and Marketing Operations teams to ensure proposal content is current, relevant, and aligned with firm standards.
- Managing and helping to develop proposal infrastructure, including boilerplate text, pitchbooks, credentials, and biographies.
- Ensuring consistency in proposal strategy and execution across practice and industry groups.
- Researching best practices and market trends related to RFPs and pitches.
- Training members of the business development team on the RFP tools and process.
- Facilitating best practices and knowledge-sharing across BD teams firmwide.
- Performing other related tasks as needed.

Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Five or more years of proposal development experience in a law firm or other professional services organization with a strong track record at the manager level.
- Ability to lead pitches and RFP responses in a law firm setting.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience managing multi-jurisdictional and multi-practice proposals, including panel and matter-specific RFPs.
- High competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM/KM applications.
- Experience with the PERSUIT platform is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior lawyers, partners, and business professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-performing team.
- Confident handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A sense of humor and team spirit is highly valued, as this is a highly collaborative, supportive team.

Salary Information:
For the New York City location, the annualized salary range for this position is $131,000 to $150,000. In Washington ., the annualized salary range is $123,000 to $142,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
