Job Title: Proposal Research Specialist (Part-Time)

Job Responsibilities:
The Proposal Research Specialist is a part-time position within the Business Development and Marketing Department at a leading defense litigation law firm. The primary responsibilities include:

- Preparing responses to client Requests for Proposals/Requests for Information (RFP, RFI, RFQ) by developing custom written content and sourcing existing content.
- Conducting research on clients, industries, competitors, and casework using internal resources, legal tools such as Lexis and Bloomberg Law, and public sources to support proposal strategy.
- Collaborating with attorneys to identify and summarize their prior casework and developing professional proposals, brochures, and related client materials.
- Crafting custom cover letters, executive summaries, and capabilities statements on a proposal-by-proposal basis and updating stock marketing materials.
- Coordinating with Business Development and Marketing team members and other departments as needed to prepare responses.
- Upholding the firm’s brand standards to ensure a strong brand presence for all marketing deliverables.
- Maintaining the department’s project tracker and content and representative matter libraries.
- Performing other proposal or business development-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Proposal Research Specialist position should possess the following qualifications and experience:

- A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, mass communications, or a related field.
- Experience in a marketing, proposal writing, or research-focused role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
- Proven ability to manage deadlines and work independently.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Capable of effectively reviewing and proofreading various documents.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Preferred Attributes:
- Background in legal research, journalism, or proposal writing.
- Comfort working with attorneys and interpreting legal materials.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt when working on multiple projects with different timelines.
- Familiarity with CRM and legal research tools.
- Ability to integrate research with the firm’s business development strategy.

Salary Information:
The salary range for the Proposal Research Specialist position is $35,000 - $40,000 USD. A variety of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to experience, education, licensure and/or certifications, geographic location, market demands, other business and organizational needs, and other factors permitted by law. Final salary wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including a 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
