Job Title: Employment Law Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in handling employment law matters such as workplace disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, wage & hour violations, and compliance issues.
- Support personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, workplace injuries, and wrongful death claims.
- Conduct legal research on employment and personal injury laws, statutes, and case precedents.
- Draft and prepare various legal documents, including demand letters, pleadings, discovery responses, employment contracts, and settlement agreements.
- Organize and manage case files, deadlines, and attorney calendars to ensure timely filings and compliance.
- Assist with discovery processes, including document review, deposition summaries, and evidence gathering for employment and personal injury cases.
- Coordinate witness interviews, expert consultations, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progression.
- Assist in litigation support, including electronic filing in state and federal courts.
- Review and summarize medical records, employment documents, and other relevant evidence.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certification from an accredited program is required.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience in employment law and personal injury within Texas.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Texas employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, and labor law regulations.
- Familiarity with personal injury case processes, including demand drafting, settlement negotiations, and litigation support.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw, as well as case management software.
- Excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
- Experience with e-discovery, document review, and trial preparation.
- Strong client service skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Information:
- Compensation for this position ranges from $55,000 to $70,000 per year.
