Law firm K&L Gates is seeking a skilled iManage Engineer to join their Information Technology Department. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse team and be a key member of the Enterprise Applications Team. The successful candidate will have experience in engineering, security, design, and support of iManage Document Management Systems and related applications.
Key Relationships
The iManage Engineer III will work closely with the Global Information Technology Teams and collaborate with cross-functional teams from various departments such as Records, Security, Data Governance, and Finance. Building strong relationships with peers, developers, and external vendors is essential.
Essential Duties
Engineering and Security:
- Responsible for day-to-day engineering, security, design, and escalated support of iManage Document Management Systems
- Automate processes using appropriate tools
- Self-learn applications, SaaS, code, and workflows
- Troubleshoot issues, manage tickets with external vendors and internal teams
- Provide level III support escalation
- Follow process, procedure, and policy
- Administer, maintain, patch, and upgrade applications
- Enforce enterprise standards and best practices
Drive Value:
- Work with Senior Enterprise Applications Architect to drive use and automations of iManage cloud platform
- Possess knowledge of Document Management Platforms and integrations
- Understand AI Technologies and their interaction with DMS
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Global Information Technology Teams to integrate AI systems, document tools, and communication platforms
- Work with project managers and business analysts
- Interface with peers and coach lower-level engineers
- Participate in enterprise-level/team projects
Project Interaction:
- Work with other Enterprise Application Engineers, Developers, Architects, Project Managers, and Business Analysts
- Serve as Lead for implementing initiatives and complex 3rd party applications
- Build working relationships with end users and business owners
- Manage requirements gathering process
- Provide technical guidance and coaching/mentoring
Additional Duties:
- Ability to work nights and weekends if assigned secondary on-call
- Self-manage workload, projects, ticket queue, and troubleshoot applications
- Self-learn, troubleshoot, evaluate and integrate applications with limited assistance
- Participate in product circles to support and deliver new features
- Document user stories and assign work
- Write test scripts and provide QA and end user testing
Experience & Skills Required:
- . in Computer Science or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task, coach and mentor lower-level engineers
- Effective communication skills
- 6+ years of experience with iManage systems and working for a professional service organization
- Proven expertise in large-scale projects, ideally in legal technology or regulated industries
- Knowledge of global data handling and regulatory standards
- Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud platform tools
- 6+ years of application support and administration experience
- 3+ years of experience with PowerShell/PowerAutomate or similar
- Ability to write technical documentation and training materials
Experience & Skills Preferred:
- Deep knowledge of legal industry, including Document Management Systems and legal-specific standards
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, preferably in Microsoft/Azure stack
- Advanced knowledge of KCS methodology
- Possess applicable iManage Cloud Systems certifications
- Experience with business workflow inside DMS systems
Additional Abilities Required:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other firm applications
- Ability to work in an office or suitable remote location
Compensation Salary $108,000 - $162,000/year
The salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on factors such as experience, expertise, and market factors.
