Job Title: Senior Manager, Application Support
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Manager, Application Support at the law firm is a crucial member of the Information Technology Department, responsible for leading teams to optimize and integrate the firm's on-premises applications and cloud services. Responsibilities include:
- Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Applications leadership team and IT architects to define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the firm's Application Platforms.
- Create and manage scorecards for managed applications and systems, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business objectives.
- Develop data-driven strategies to enhance operations, improve decision-making, optimize solutions, and boost business efficiency.
- Enhance the firm's infrastructure/solutions to be cloud-first, modern, flexible, highly available, and of industry-leading quality.
- Coordinate with various teams to ensure forward-thinking solutions with a focus on future needs.
- Enforce data governance, security, privacy protocols, and operational/firm design standards.
- Leading Collaboration and Cross-Functional Platform Design:
- Manage requirements gathering and design, implement solutions that can be operationalized at scale.
- Ensure solutions are practical, cost-effective, and easy to integrate into daily operations.
- Collaborate with various teams to enhance and improve solutions and support processes.
- Support the incorporation of AI and automation to improve department efficiency.
- Convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
- Act as the main liaison between business units and technical teams.
- Firm Applications and Integrations Ownership:
- Act as technical owner of solutions, developing supporting teams and processes adhering to industry security and vendor best practices.
- Advocate for solutions prioritizing system stability, reliability, and scalability.
- Develop and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for managed applications and systems.
- Manage vendor relationships in collaboration with the Director of Enterprise Applications.
- Oversee platform designs to create a unified ecosystem and user experience.
- Facilitate enforcement of application and security policies.
- Management and Leadership:
- Promote a culture characterized by collaboration, innovation, and focus on results.
- Participate in the change control process, ensuring solutions are stable, secure, compliant, and highly available.
- Define team roles and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse applications and integrations engineering team.
- Serve as a direct supervisor, offering mentoring, technical guidance, and managerial feedback.
- Encourage career advancement through training and professional development.
- Supervise daily activities of direct reports, ensuring policy compliance and managing staffing coverage.
Education and Experience Information:
- . in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience.
- Ability to multitask, lead and mentor engineers/developers, and work under pressure.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant people supervision and experience leading a team of 4 or more.
- A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated application support and administration experience, or related experience in an application architecture capacity.
- Experience managing relationships, projects, and/or outsourcing with vendors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft IIS, Azure Application Fabric, Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft SharePoint, Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Azure Active Directory or Active Directory.
- A minimum of 8+ years working with multitier architecture applications or developed solutions leveraging high availability technologies.
