The Law Firm of **Members Only** is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Secretary to join their team in Fort Lauderdale West (Plantation) office. This is a full-time position, with the candidate working for a Partner and their associate. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense, specifically BI/UM, and must possess strong organizational skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, and communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel. The candidate must also have knowledge of court procedures and have extensive experience scheduling, drafting legal documents, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work for a Partner and their associate in the Fort Lauderdale West (Plantation) office
- Handle insurance defense cases, specifically BI/UM
- Utilize strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Communicate professionally with clients and opposing counsel
- Familiarity with court procedures and extensive experience scheduling, drafting legal documents, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts
- Knowledge of case management systems and billing software
- Competency in capturing time and billing according to guidelines in a timely manner
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a good attendance record
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in insurance defense, specifically BI/UM
