Job Title: Probate and Estate Planning Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Probate and Estate Planning Paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys in managing probate cases and estate planning matters. This includes drafting legal pleadings, conducting legal research, maintaining case files, preparing case status updates for clients, and communicating with clients and court personnel. Key responsibilities entail:
- Assisting attorneys in the administration of probate estates, including the preparation and filing of probate documents with the court.
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, petitions, inventories, accountings, and other related forms.
- Conducting legal research and gathering necessary information and documentation from clients, financial institutions, and other relevant sources.
- Maintaining and organizing case files to ensure all documents are filed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Regularly communicating with clients to provide updates on case status and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Coordinating and scheduling appointments, hearings, and court appearances.
- Assisting in the preparation for probate hearings and trials, including compiling exhibits and documentation.
- Tracking and managing deadlines to ensure timely filings and compliance with court requirements.
- Providing administrative support to attorneys as needed.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of estate plans, including the drafting and execution of estate planning documents.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the role, candidates must have a minimum of five years of direct Florida probate paralegal experience. It is required for candidates to reside in South Florida. Being bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred, with proficiency in English required. Educational qualifications include an Associate's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program, with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. Additional qualifications include:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and legal document drafting.
- High organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary Information:
The pay for this full-time position ranges from $35, to $50, per year. The work location is hybrid remote in Plantation, FL 33324.
