Job Title: Legal Assistant - Personal Injury
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer and route incoming calls, ensuring professionalism and care in responding to inquiries and taking detailed messages when necessary.
- Request and track essential documents such as medical records, itemized medical billing, police reports, balance verifications, and health insurance liens.
- Open claims with insurance companies and request policy documents.
- Serve as the firm's Document Specialist; manage all incoming general email, mail, and fax correspondence. Organize, name, upload, and distribute documents to the legal team.
- Send check payments for requested invoices.
- Maintain the organization of electronic client files.
- Provide overflow support to attorneys and case managers, including tasks such as scanning, mailing, data entry, and special projects.
- Follow up on pending requests for demand-ready files to support case resolution.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of legal assistant experience in a personal injury firm.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Professional and empathetic demeanor, particularly when dealing with sensitive matters.
- Technologically proficient, comfortable with Microsoft Office, and willing to learn new systems (experience with Filevine is a plus).
- Initiative-taking individual who thrives in a collaborative setting.
Salary Information:
- Hourly Pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience.
