Responsibilities
• Prepare and draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Organize and maintain documents in paper and electronic filing system.
• Compile evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
• Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation.
• Schedule meetings, depositions, court appearances, and other events.
• Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing.
• Assist with preparation for hearings, trials, and closings.
• Manage communication with clients, witnesses, court personnel, and other legal professionals.
• Perform research and analysis of legal documents.
• Maintain a calendar and set deadlines.
• Ensure that all deadlines are met.
Qualifications
• High school diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a legal assistant/secretary in a litigation firm.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, case management software, and other legal software programs.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.
