Philipp brings with her 15 years of legal experience, including 14 years with Foley Hoag LLP
. Immediately after earning her JD cum laude
from Boston University, Philipp served in a clerkship with the justices of the Superior Court of Massachusetts. She joined Foley Hoag in 1997 and is currently a partner and a co-chair of the firm's Nonprofit Practice Group. In fact, she regularly speaks on legal issues that are of particular importance to nonprofit organizations.
During her years at Foley Hoag, Philipp has provided guidance to nonprofit clients, including colleges and universities, on a range of issues, such as governance, mergers and acquisitions, tax-exempt status, use of charitable funds, executive and board compensation, grant agreements, and more. Philipp has also represented private companies and both registered and unregistered investment advisors on matters such as founder agreements, fund formation, and regulatory compliance.
From 2004 until 2010, Philip served on the Board of Directors and was a member of the Executive Committee of Families First Parenting Programs Inc. She also served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Main Streets Foundation for five years. She currently resides in Cambridge with her husband and three children.
