The complaint, filed with the Washington, D.C. Bar Association calls for the disbarment of the three attorneys alleging an array of unethical behaviors including cyber stalking, spear phishing, cyber attacks, theft, and even domestic spying.

The complaint follows a collection of emails being hacked into through the HBGary Federal servers by the Internet vigilante group, Anonymous. Those emails revealed Hunton & Williams requesting proposals from HBGary Federal to concentrate on the potential fallout Bank of America faced after the infamous whistle-blowing website WikiLeaks released classified documents on its website earlier this year.

Within Zeese's filed complaint there are several passages from the email account of Aaron Barr, an executive at HBGary. In the emails, Barr's proposal included creating fake Facebook personae that would deliver misinformation to the groups supporting the VelvetRevolution.us and StopTheChamber.com. Additionally, Barr purported to be able to forge documents that would slander the groups.

It is believed that Barr is responsible for the cyber attack from Anonymous after he suggested that he could identify the leaders of the organization, who to this day remain unknown. A partner at Hunton & Williams, Glenn Greenwald, criticized the actions of John Woods, saying, ''For a lawyer to be at the center of an odious and quite possibly illegal scheme to target progressive activists and their families, threaten the careers of journalists as a means of silencing them, and fabricate forged documents intended for public consumption - and then steadfastly refuse to comment, is just inexcusable.''

It will remain up to the Bar association to decide whether the three lawyers implicated in the scandal will retain their licenses to practice. After the emails were exposed, Bank of America, and the Chamber of Commerce, who was also being said to have solicited corrupt dealings from HBGary, the two organizations immediately cut ties with the HBGary.
